Courthouse Weddings & Elopements

Thoughtful photography for courthouse ceremonies, elopements, and intimate celebrations. Coverage begins with one hour and is designed to preserve the ceremony, portraits, and the people who make the day meaningful.
COURTHOUSE WEDDINGS
A relaxed, guided session that gives us time to get to know one another while helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera. We’ll choose a location that is meaningful to you—or simply one that reflects the two of you—and create photographs that feel natural and connected.
ENGAGEMENT SESSION*
Additional coverage for engagement sessions and intimate weddings starts at $250 per hour.
A small travel fee will be charged for all sessions over 60 miles from 61843.

A: Yes, absolutely, for wedding days of 6+ hours, you can definitely add on a second photographer. It's the best way to assure that multiple angles of your event are captured, as well as all the candid in between moments that will mean so much to you.
Q: CAN I ADD ON A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER?
A: My collections begin at 6 hours of coverage, as I have found this to be the minimum amount of time needed to best serve my couples. 8 hours is the ideal amount of time to capture the finishing touches of a glam squad making you look your best through the two of you dancing the night away on the dance floor! You can always add additional coverage if needed at any time, but know I will never leave your wedding without checking in on the two of you to make sure we’ve taken every last photo you were dreaming of.
Q: How many hours of coverage do I need?
A: An album is completely optional, but it is one of the most meaningful ways to experience your photographs beyond a screen. Heirloom albums preserve the full story of your wedding in a tangible form that can be shared and passed down for years to come.
Q: Do we really need an album??
A: YES! I’ve been so blessed to build amazing relationships with so many creative and professional vendors over the years. I only point my couples in the direction of other creatives who I know will take the absolute best care of you, and can send you a list of these names once we’ve made it official!
Q: Are there other vendors you can recommend to me?
A: I do not charge any travel fees if the wedding is within 90 miles of zip code 61843. Travel fees are assessed on a case by case basis. This also applies to engagement sessions scheduled outside the same radius. Additionally, if the event is beyond a 2 hour drive (based on Google Maps), hotel accommodations will be required for the night of the event and is the responsibility of the client to book.
Q: Do you charge travel fees?
A: Once we’ve connected and confirmed that we’re a good fit, a signed contract and a nonrefundable retainer of $1,000 will officially reserve your wedding date.

What’s the next step?
A: Galleries typically include about 75 to 100 photos per hour of coverage, though the exact amount varies from wedding to wedding. You are absolutely more than welcome to print the photos yourself, as your gallery comes complete with fully edited, high resolution images. I also provide an online print shop through your gallery which ensures professional printing through one of my preferred professional print labs.
Q: How many photos are typically included in our collection and can we print them ourselves?
A: I wholeheartedly believe in the importance of shooting an engagement session with all of my kDarlingCouples, and that it is a vital part of your experience. It not only helps us get to know one another better, but it helps me to get some insight into your natural chemistry before your big day! The friendships I build with my couples is why I’m able to get the images that I do, which is why I highly encourage every couple to take advantage of them if at all possible. For these reasons, I include the engagement session as my complimentary gift to you.
Q: We’ve already had an engagement session or aren’t going to be in central Il before the wedding. Can we take that off of the Collection?
